Wagner mercenaries may train Belarus’ special forces – Ukrainian official

June 29, BPN. The Russian Wagner Group will split into four separate units and one of them may be involved in the training of the Belarusian special forces, Ukrainian presidential adviser Mykhailo Podolyak has told Ukraine’s 1+1.

The arrival of the Wagner fighters in Belarus will not “pose any danger,” he added. “It does not make any sense in terms of war and occasional speculations about a possible attack on Ukraine from the north.” Ukraine’s lines of defense in the north are very strong, he stressed.

Belarus will definitely not participate directly in Russia’s war on Ukraine, Podolyak noted.
