Wagner Group to arrive in Belarus for training – defense ministry
July 11, BPN. Wagner Group fighters will arrive in Belarus “for training and exchange of experience,” the defense ministry in Minsk has announced.
Once Russian private army troops are stationed at training grounds, “we are planning to pay special attention to ways and methods of conducting the Belarusian Armed Forces’ combat operations,” it said.
The Kremlin-linked private military contractor announced its relocation to Belarus in early July after a feud with the Russian defense ministry and a failed mutiny.
The Belarusian ministry recalled that last month Alaksandr Łukašenka expressed interest in cooperation with the Wagner Group, which he said could share its “invaluable” combat experience with Belarusians.
A new shift of Russian regular army soldiers will also arrive for joint training with Belarusian military personnel, the ministry said, adding that the previous rotation of the regional group of forces took place over a month ago.
