Border guards accuse Ukraine of raising tensions over damaged signs

July 12, BPN. Mazyr’s border guards discovered two damaged border signs near Ukraine’s frontier yesterday, the State Border Committee reports.

They also found traces of people crossing from Ukraine and returning there, it said.

It accused Ukraine of “short-sighted attempts” to raise tensions at the border.

In September 2021, the committee claimed that a Belarusian border marker was shelled in the Pinsk district bordering the country.

Four months later, it reported damage to a border sign near Poland, and later accused a Polish serviceman of violating the border.
