July 27, BPN. Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis has welcomed new EU sanctions on Minsk by saying that they have been long overdue, LRT reported quoting the Baltic News Service (BNS).
He pointed out the deteriorating human rights situation, circumvention of the previous sanctions, and Minsk’s support for the Russian war in Ukraine.
The European Union’s Permanent Representative Committee approved the new sanctions yesterday.
The measures are expected to target both individuals and companies.
