Łukašenka orders fall draft

July 28, BPN. Alaksandar Łukašenka’s July 27 decree orders the draft, from August to November, of eligible adult men who do not have or have lost the right to deferment for military service.

The Belarusian ruler instructed the defense ministry to assign the conscripts to the Armed Forces, “other troops and military units” by December 1. The exact number of recruits has not been disclosed.

The government should report on the fall draft results by January 20.

This year’s fall draft decree came a few days later than in previous years.
