Cichanoŭskaja building international coalition for Belarus’ independence

November 10, Pozirk. Belarusian opposition leader Śviatłana Cichanoŭskaja has expressed confidence that Belarus would be able to join the European Union, her aide Franak Viačorka has told Pozirk.
In her address to the participants of the Estonia-Belarus conference in Tallinn, the politician cited successful examples of Belarus’ Baltic neighbors and the current European aspirations of Moldova and Ukraine.
Both Belarus and Estonia declared independence in early 1918 and were among the first to mutually recognize it, she noted. Many Belarusians found new home in Estonia as they fled their country fearing politically-motivated persecution after the 2020 postelection protests, the politician added.
The opposition stands united and is building an international coalition in support of an independent and free Belarus with the United States and Estonia as key allies, Cichanoŭskaja stressed.
