Belarus, Vietnam to set up student exchange program

December 21, Pozirk. Belarus and Vietnam will sponsor a student exchange program covering studies at the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels, says an intergovernmental agreement published on the National Legal Internet Portal.
The program would be implemented annually and offer tuition waivers for up to 15 students from both counties on a parity basis. It would also allow up to five university instructors to receive training in a respective partner country.
The host country will provide foreign students with free tuition, textbooks and equipment as well as monthly stipends.
The agreement regulating cooperation in education was signed in June in Vietnam’s Hanoi, stating the intentions of both countries to share education experience and engage in joint research in sciences and humanities. It does not cover the training of military, law enforcement and emergency staff.
On December 20, Valeryj Ravienka of the Belarusian defense ministry discussed the potential training of Belarusian peacekeepers at Vietnam’s Department of Peacekeeping Operations with its head Pham Manh Thang.
