January 5, Pozirk. Belarus’ international reserve assets fell by $128.2 million in December to $8.127 billion on January 1, the National Bank said.
The bank linked the 1.6-percent decrease to a reduction in foreign currency reserves, which fell by $199 million to $3.4 billion.
The reserves grew by $197.9 million year on year, it added.
In 2023, authorities achieved their goal of keeping Belarus’ international reserves above $6 billion. The same amount is projected for 2024.
