Polish security official dismisses Łukašenka’s accusations as nonsense

February 21, Pozirk. The coordinator of Poland’s security services, Tomasz Siemoniak, has dismissed as “complete nonsense” Alaksandar Łukašenka’s recent claim that Polish and US intelligence agents were preparing a false flag operation against Polish civilians.
He told Radio ZET that these remarks should be treated as elements of information warfare. Łukašenka often tells false stories to sow tension, mobilize public opinion in his own country and show Russia that he is against the West and Poland, he said.
Łukašenka’s remarks may point to Belarus’ and Russia’s provocative plans against Poland, he noted. Developments in Belarus, Łukašenka’s statements and the activities of security and defense bodies should be closely monitored, he added.
Yesterday, Łukašenka quoted what he described as an operational report: “Polish and American intelligence agencies are preparing large-scale provocation against the civilian population of Poland, for which Russia and Belarus will be blamed.”
He also accused Warsaw of trying to recruit his high-ranking officials who could serve as opposition leaders.
