Ukraine keeps “strike group” of 114,000 at Belarus border – defense minister

February 22, Pozirk. Ukraine has massed “a strike group” of up to 114,000 troops at the shared border with Belarus, the Belarusian defense minister has told Rossiya-24.
Lt. Gen. Viktar Chrenin said that Belarus keeps about 17,000 troops to protect the border with Ukraine.
No additional deployments are needed, he said, expressing concern about sabotage cells entering Belarus from Ukraine.
His comments come a week after the Committee for State Security (KGB) reported the arrest of three “saboteurs,” two Ukrainians and one Belarusian, in the Lelčycy district, Homiel region. Belarus supported Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, providing infrastructure, the launching ground and ammunition for the failed assault on Kyiv in February 2022.
