Georgia arrests 10 on suspicion of drug crimes, including Belarusians

March 2, Pozirk. Georgian police and State Security Service officers have arrested 10 people accused of drug crimes, including nationals of Belarus, Georgia and Israel, newsgeorgia.ge reported quoting the interior ministry.
The suspects were arrested during raids in Tbilisi, the Ponichala suburb and the western cities of Batumi and Ozurgeti.
Over 440 ecstasy pills, up to 3 kg of raw opium, cocaine, marijuana, hashish, amphetamine and other drugs were seized, the interior ministry said.
In a home in the Adjara region (the capital is Batumi) they found “materials for drug packaging, electric scales, a flare gun and ammunition.”
Investigations are underway into four criminal charges that, combined, may result in life sentences.
