New conscripts start arriving for military service
October 24, Pozirk. Belarusians called up for compulsory military service and service in the reserve are arriving at military units, the defense ministry reports.
Some 10,000 conscripts and 200 reservists will join the Belarusian army in October and November, it added. About 1,000 will join special operations forces, the 72nd Guards Joint Training Center in Pečy, Minsk region, and the Minsk Military Commandant’s Office.
About 60,000 people will be summoned to the military enlistment offices this fall. Defense ministry stressed that “the draft activities are organized and conducted in accordance with the law, without any changes.”
The draft campaign is scheduled to be completed on November 10. New recruits are expected to take the oath of enlistment on November 25.
