Lithuanians support tougher travel rules for Belarusians – survey
October 25, Pozirk. More than 60 percent of Lithuanians would support the introduction of stricter travel rules for Belarusian nationals, LRT reported, citing a recent Baltijos tyrimai survey.
Over 25 percent of respondents are opposed, while 13.8 percent did not answer the question.
The poll of 1023 Lithuanians aged 18 years and older was conducted in late September and early October. The margin of error reportedly does not exceed 3.1 percent.
Women, seniors as well as residents of villages and small towns were more likely to support stricter rules, while people aged 18-29 were least likely to be in favor.
This spring, the Lithuanian Seimas approved tighter travel rules for Russian nationals but Belarusians were excluded from most of the restrictive measures.
