Four opposition coalitions banned as extremist ahead of Coordination Council vote

May 10, Pozirk. The Belarusian Committee for State Security (KGB) has designated four coalitions running for the Coordination Council as extremist groups.
The interior ministry added the designations to its extremism register today.
The election for the opposition parliament is scheduled for May 25–27.
The four coalitions are Law and Order, European Choice, Youth Offensive and Liberty.
In addition to banning their members, the KGB also banned their online pages.
Earlier, the KGB banned the alliance Łatuška’s Team–Movement for Freedom.
In all, the election commission allowed 12 coalitions to run for the Coordination Council.
