Authorities move to shut down Christian non-profit

May 19, Pozirk. The Minsk City Court on May 21 is scheduled to hear the justice ministry’s liquidation suit against the Christian Service to the Spiritual Revival of Convicts public association, the electronic court schedule says.

Founded in 2003 and a member of the Prison Fellowship International network, the association promoted Christian values among prison inmates, provided social services to former convicts and implemented education projects.

Belarusian authorities dissolved more than 1,600 NGOs between the presidential election in 2020 and late March 2024, according to a recent report by Lawtrend.
