June 3, Pozirk. “We have taken appropriate retaliatory measures against the most zealous EU members,” Deputy Foreign Minister Ihar Nazaruk told state media in connection with the increase in tariffs on some agricultural imports from Russia and Belarus to the European Union, which will take effect on July 1.
According to Nazaruk, these measures “mirror, according to economists’ calculations, the effect that was sought with regard to Belarus.”
“I think our partners in the EU will not like our retaliatory measures,” he said.
Nazaruk made the remarks ahead of the plenary session Food Security of the Eurasian Economic Union at the Belagro exhibition on June 3 in the Smalavičy district, Minsk region.
