PM optimistic about Belarus’ economic performance in January-May
June 17, Pozirk. In the first five months of 2024, the government “fully met and surpassed” four of the five key performance indicators, Prime Minister Raman Hałoŭčanka has reported to Alaksandar Łukašenka.
Gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 5.2 percent, he said, according to the cabinet’s press office.
Agricultural production rose by 8.1 percent; industrial production, by 8 percent; cargo transportation, by 3.9 percent; real disposable income adjusted for inflation, by 9.8 percent in January-May, according to the National Statistics Committee.
The government projected a 3.8-percent GDP growth and a 3.5-percent increase in real income for 2024.
