Education ministry arranges transfers for students of closed private universities

July 25, Pozirk. The education ministry offered more than 3,000 former private law and business school students a transfer to the leading public universities, Belarus 1 TV channel reports.
Belarusian State Economic University agreed to accept about 800 students, it noted.
Two major private Belarusian universities, the University of Law and Social Technologies and the Institute of Entrepreneurial Activity, announced closure earlier and terminated admission for the upcoming academic year.
One month ago, the Institute of Parliamentarianism and Entrepreneurship also stopped admitting new students yet allowed enrolled students to continue their studies.
All three private universities have been operating since the 1990s.
Authorities closed down almost all private kindergartens and schools in Belarus after Alaksandar Łukašenka had instructed officials to take the education system under control two years ago.
