November 2, Pozirk. Prosecutor General Andrej Švied has suggested re-establishing the main and inter-garrison military prosecutors’ offices in Belarus, Alaksandar Łukašenka’s press office reported.
The prosecutor indicated that Belarus finds itself at the center of military and political tension, noting that military prosecutors are needed “everywhere in all military conflicts.” They should become “an indispensable element of the national security system,” he added.
The Belarusian government disbanded military prosecutors’ offices in 2014, transferring their powers to civilian agencies.
