Belarus’ foreign exchange reserves up 2.8 percent in October

November 3, Pozirk. Belarus’ gold and foreign exchange reserves grew by $222.1 million in October to about $8.147 billion on November 1, the National Bank’s press office reported.

Foreign exchange reserves include $3.5 billion worth of monetary gold, $1.4 billion in special drawing rights and $3.3 billion in foreign currency.

Since August 2022, the National Bank has been publishing information on foreign exchange reserves on its official website without a breakdown and analysis of fluctuations.

Gold and foreign exchange reserves are projected to amount to at least $6 billion by the end of 2023, according to the monetary and credit policy guidelines adopted by the Belarusian government in November 2022.
