Russian drone attacks Ukraine, enters Belarus – AFU

August 31, Pozirk. One of the combat drones that had attacked Ukraine on the night of August 30–31 entered Belarusian airspace, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) reported.
Over the night, Russia pounded Ukraine with 52 Iranian-made Shahed drones.
Ukrainian air defenses downed 24 of them. Twenty-five drones were lost, two flew toward Russia and one flew to Belarus.
In August, monitors reported several Russian drone incursions into the country. According to opposition leader Śviatłana Cichanoŭskaja, at least nine Russian Shaheds violated Belarusian airspace in July.
Minsk has not protested the incursions to Moscow.
On the contrary, on August 10, Alaksandar Łukašenka accused Ukraine of violating his country’s airspace and deployed troops to the southern border.
