Wrocław’s Belarusians volunteer to help flood victims

September 16, Pozirk. The Belarusian community in Wrocław is offering assistance to those affected by floods in Poland’s Lower Silesia, its Telegram channel said, reiterating the warning to avoid flooded roads, stock up on food and drinking water and contact local emergency services.
The flood warning remains in force for September 17 and 18 in Wrocław after Storm Boris hit central and eastern Europe this weekend. At least three people died, and more than 2,500 were evacuated from their homes in southwestern Poland.
On Sunday evening, the Belarusian opposition transition cabinet launched @nau_by_bot chat for Belarusians affected by floods.
The cabinet’s deputy head Pavieł Łatuška called on Belarusians to display solidarity and help each other without relying on the assistance from Belarusian embassies and consulates operated by Alaksandar Łukašenka’s officials.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk considers declaring a state of natural disaster over floods.
