TikTok deletes Russia’s Sputnik Belarus account
September 22, Pozirk. The TikTok video-sharing service has deleted dozens of accounts linked to Russia’s Sputnik, including Sputnik Belarus, RT said on Telegram.
Sputnik is a Russian state-affiliated news agency, running several websites, a radio broadcasting service and press centers with a head office in Moscow and branches as far as the United States and China.
Its Belarus branch has been operating since December 2014.
Sputnik has been repeatedly accused of spreading pro-Kremlin propaganda and disinformation and has been under Western sanctions since 2022. Its broadcasts are banned in Australia, Canada, the European Union and the United States.
