Belarus FM: direct air link, visa waiver to boost ties between Belarus, Oman
December 16, Pozirk. A direct air passenger service between Belarus and Oman will boost tourism and economic ties, the transport ministry’s press office reports, citing Foreign Minister Maksim Ryžankoŭ.
Direct air link and Oman’s visa waiver for Belarusian nationals, introduced two days ago and allowing a visa-free stay for two weeks, will benefit business activities, he said, noting that all formalities have already been completed.
Belarus’ top diplomat made these statements in Oman, after arriving there two days ago as part of a delegation led by Alaksandar Łukašenka. Yesterday, the Belarusian ruler discussed bilateral relations with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq.
Trade between Belarus and Oman amounted to $1.5 million dollars three years ago, with Belarusian exports at $0.9 million. Belarus mainly supplied potash fertilizers and food. The Belarusian government has not disclosed more recent trade data.
