February 26, Pozirk. Prosecutor General Andrej Švied noted a rise in wage arrears to farmers, speaking before members of both chambers of the National Assembly on February 26.
Prosecutors monitor nearly 70 farms that have wage arrears, he said, stressing that the issue has a social dimension. He added that some farmers have not received wages for six months and longer.
Last year, prosecutors forced debtors to pay about 7.5 million rubels (more than $2 million) in wage arrears.
