Belarus’ spring call-up to start on April 22

April 21, Pozirk. Conscripts will be called up for service in the Belarusian Armed Forces, the interior ministry’s Internal Troops, state security services and border guard units starting on April 22, the defense ministry’s press office reports.
Alaksandar Łukašenka signed an edict to that effect on March 6.
About 10,000 people are expected to be drafted during the annual spring call-up in April and May. The number is similar to the recent fall call-up. New recruits are expected to take the oath of enlistment on May 24.
Some 1,000 conscripts will join the special operations forces, the 72nd Combined Arms Training Center for Warrant Officers and Junior Specialists in Piečy, Minsk region, and the Minsk Military Commandant’s Office tomorrow.
The military enlistment offices plan to summon about 43,000 people for mental, physical and moral fitness examination this fall.
