Łukašenka offers military goods to Vietnam at meeting with its Communist Party leader
May 12, Pozirk. Alaksandar Łukašenka has told To Lam, the visiting secretary general of the Communist Party of Vietnam, that Belarus is ready to supply his country with military goods.
The Belarusian leader invited Vietnamese officials to visit MILEX 2025, a military exhibition scheduled to take place in Minsk from May 21 to 24, according to his press office.
The Belarusian-Vietnamese commission on military-technical cooperation last met in 2019. The Belarusian delegation at that meeting was led by Raman Hałoŭčanka, chairman of the State Defense Industry Committee who would soon be promoted to prime minister by Łukašenka.
As part of To Lam’s current visit, defense officials from the two countries signed a protocol of intentions to strengthen military education ties.
After the talks, Łukašenka and To Lam signed a statement on strategic partnership between the two countries.
To Lam was elected as secretary general of Vietnam’s ruling and only legal political party in August. This office is considered superior to the president.
