Russia puts Belarusian journalist on wanted list
July 14, Pozirk. Belarusian journalist Taćciana Karaviankova has said on Facebook that she is wanted in Russia.
Karaviankova’s entry on the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs website does not specify the charge.
In December, the Belarusian interior ministry declared the Pozirk news agency an extremist group. It named Karaviankova, human rights activist Raman Kiślak and political analysts Alaksandar Kłaskoŭski, Piotra Rudkoŭski and Alexander Friedman as persons associated with the group.
Earlier that year, Belarusian investigators ordered the seizure of the Belarus-based real estate from Karaviankova. The Investigative Committee has ignored her request for clarifications.
Karaviankova, known as a political and international observer for the outlawed BelaPAN news agency, fled the country in 2021 amid a major crackdown on the critical media.
