Belarus trade grows 1.8 percent, deficit widens
October 27, Pozirk. Belarus’ foreign trade in goods and services rose by 1.8 percent year on year to $66.2 billion in the first eight months of 2025, said the central bank.
Exports rose by 1 percent to $32.8 billion, while imports increased by 2.5 percent to $33.4 billion. The deficit widened to $602.8 million from $111.7 million reported for the same period last year.
Trade in goods slid by 0.5 percent year on year to $54.2 billion, with exports down 2.5 percent to $25.5 billion. Imports rose by 1.4 percent to $28.7 billion. The deficit of trade in goods almost doubled to $3.2 billion.
Trade in services rose by 13.2 percent to nearly $12 billion, with exports growing by 15.4 percent to $7.3 billion and imports rising by 9.8 percent to $4.7 billion. The surplus widened by 27.9 percent to $2.6 billion.
