Ukrainian commander warns Łukašenka over Russian drone flights via Belarus

May 16, Pozirk. Robert Brovdi, commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, has threatened Alaksandar Łukašenka with retaliation for allowing Russian attack drones to pass through Belarusian airspace.

“We are tracking every single ‘Shahed’ drone heading to Ukraine via Belarusian corridors as well as all of your military-style manoeuvres and shenanigans,” he said on Telegram. “You can twirl your moustache on camera all you want and tell your frightened people tales of ‘neutrality,’ but your hands are already covered in the blood of Ukrainian civilians,” Brovdi added.

Three days ago, the Ukrainian Air Force reported a large-scale Russian drone attack via the Belarusian territory.

Ukrainian intelligence detected attempts to persuade Alaksandar Łukašenka “to join new Russian aggressive operations,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned yesterday following a meeting with Ukraine’s top military officials.

In February 2022, Russia started a full-scale war against Ukraine in which the Belarusian authorities supported the Kremlin, allowing Russian troops to attack Ukraine from Belarus on multiple occasions and supplying arms to Moscow.
