May 21, Pozirk. Belarusian law enforcers are conducting multiple searches across Minsk today, targeting, among others, exiled activists’ homes, the Viasna Human Rights Center reports.
Police raided the Minsk apartment of exiled human rights activist and former political prisoner Uładzimir Łabkovič. Belarusian authorities reportedly filed new criminal charges against him over his public activities since his release on December 13. The search was authorized by the Prosecutor General’s Office.
Łabkovič, one of Viasna’s leaders, was released following Alaksandar Łukašenka’s deal with Washington. He was forced to leave Belarus.
