Łysienka appointed Belarus’ environment minister

June 11, Pozirk. Alaksandar Łukašenka has appointed Maksim Łysienka as environment minister, filling the vacancy left by Siarhiej Maslak, who is currently in jail awaiting trial on corruption charges.
Born in 1984, Łysienka graduated from Belarusian State Technology University in 2007 and Minsk Management Institute in 2010. He has served as first deputy environment minister since July 2025.
According to the Belarusian leader’s press office, Łukašenka told Łysienka today that he was dissatisfied with the ministry’s performance.
Also today, he appointed Volha Anufryjeva director and editor-in-chief of the Belarus Segodnya Publishing House, the country’s largest propaganda media outlet. Anufryjeva, who previously headed the Zviazda Publishing House, replaces Dźmitryj Žuk, who was appointed information minister several months ago.
In other appointments, Łukašenka named Jaŭhien Sabaleŭski ambassador to Lybia and Alaksandar Aharodnikaŭ ambassador to Afghanistan.
He also approved the appointments of Jaŭhien Škrobat as head of the Pietrykaŭ district in the Homeil region, Andrej Kłyšeŭski as head of the Ašmiany district in the Hrodna region, Mikhaił Symanovič as CEO of the Biełkamunmaš trolleybus manufacturing company, and Eduard Šal as CEO of the Lidsielmaš agricultural equipment manufacturing company.
