Belarus records its highest-ever July 1 temperature of 37.1
July 2, Pozirk. Belarus recorded its highest-ever July 1 temperature of 37.1 degrees Celsius in Kobryn, according to Pozirk’s analysis of Biełhidramiet data.
The previous record on that day, 36.4C, was reported in Brahin seven years ago.
July’s record temperatures of 36.1C were reported in Pružany and Ivacevičy, beating the previous records of 36C (July 31, 1994) and 35.6C (July 17, 2001).
Brest and Hrodna recorded highest-ever temperatures for the date of 36.4C and 33.8C, respectively.
New local records for the date were also reported in Vysokaje (36C), Vaŭkavysk (35.7C), Pinsk (35.5C), Hancavičy (34C) and Lida (30.9C).
On June 29, Belarus reported its highest-ever temperature in the 145-year history of meteorological observations at 40.4 C in Pinsk.
