In case of a threat, Lukašenka is ready to deploy “supernuclear weapons” in Belarus
February 17, BPN. Currently, there is no need to deploy nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus, Aliaksandr Lukašenka said on February 17 at the Asipovičy training area (Mahilioŭ region).
“If need be, if such thoughtless, stupid steps are taken by our enemies and rivals, we are going to deploy not only nuclear weapons, but also supernuclear, high-potential weapons in order to protect our territory,” Lukašenka was quoted as saying by his press service.
However, if there are no threats from unfriendly countries to Belarus, nuclear weapons “are absolutely unnecessary here,” he stressed.
On November 30, 2021, in an interview with Dmitry Kiselev, director general of the Rossiya Segodnya agency, Lukašenka said that he would respond to possible NATO deployment of nuclear weapons in Eastern Europe by offering Russian president Vladimir Putin to return nuclear weapons to Belarus.
