We need to stop the infrastructure that helps the Lukašenka regime support Russia’s war against Ukraine, Cichanoŭskaja says
February 28, BPN. Contrary to the will of the people, Belarus has become an accomplice of Russia in the war against Ukraine, that is why supporters of changes must continue their actions to stop the hostilities and prevent the deaths of Belarusians, said the office of the Belarusian democratic leader Sviatlana Cichanoŭskaja in a statement.
The politician’s office noted that in one day, on February 27, Belarusians “managed to do a lot,” in particular “to see each other again, to overcome fear” and to participate in anti-war street rallies, “for the first time in a year.”
Cyber partisans and the Supraciŭ resistance movement attacked the internal network of the Belarusian Railways, disabling its services in order to slow down the movement of Russian military equipment to the border with Ukraine. “In order to suspend the movement of trains to the Ukrainian border, BYPOL and the plan Pieramoha (Victory) blocked the movement of military equipment on the railroad tracks. This did not affect passenger safety,” Cichanoŭskaja’s office noted.
The statement emphasized that “Belarusian diasporas held protest rallies all over the world, showing that Belarusians support Ukrainians.” It also noted that the information channels “worked as efficiently as possible.”
The politician’s office believes that “it is necessary to keep up the momentum.”
Cichanoŭskaja and her team urge to prevent misinformation, in particular “to talk and explain to colleagues that there is a war going on, who the aggressor is, how our country got involved and what consequences it has.”
