National debt of Belarus increases by BYN 600 million since the beginning of the year
March 1, BPN. According to the Ministry of Finance, the national debt of Belarus amounted to BYN 58.9 billion ($19,6 billion) as of February 1, 2022.
Since the beginning of the year, the national debt has increased by BYN600 million ($200 million) (+1.1%).
According to the Ministry of Finance, external public debt amounted to $17.9 billion. It has decreased by $300 million (adjusted for exchange rate differences), or by 1.6% since the beginning of the year.
In January, external government loans worth $65.3 million were attracted. Repayment of external public debt amounted to $271.9 million.
Domestic public debt amounted to BYN12 billion ($4 billion). It has grown by BYN200 million ($66.7 million) (adjusted for exchange rate differences), or by 1.6% since the beginning of the year.
In January 2022, Belarus did not place or redeem domestic government bonds.
This year, BYN6,936.3 billion ($2,312.1 billion) will be spent on redemption of government debt and BYN3,522.4 billion ($1,174.1) on its servicing.
