Czech Republic adopts migration program for 500 persecuted Belarusians, Russians

June 10, BPN. The Czech foreign and interior ministries have presented a government-approved migration program for civil society that aims to help Belarusians and Russians facing politically motivated persecution in their home countries.

Eligible Belarusians and Russians as well as their families will be able to apply for a residence permit at a Czech embassy abroad. Czech foreign ministry said their applications will be processed in a simplified and accelerated manner.

It also announced that program participants will be able to stay in the Czech Republic for long with a visa or a residence permit.

Applications have been accepted since May 20 for one year. Only 500 people will be selected.
