Eurasian Economic Commission approves accelerated drug registration procedure

June 11, BPN. The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has approved an accelerated drug registration procedure for the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) to forestall shortages amid international sanctions, the press office of the EEC reported.

The move automatically extends all registration certificates within the EAEU until the end of 2023.

The EEC has allowed remote inspections of manufacturing sites for compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and registration of drugs according to the EAEU rules, as well GMP inspections in the post-registration period.

The EAEU is an international organization of regional economic integration. Its member states include Belarus and Russia, which are under international sanctions for the assault on Ukraine, as well as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia. Cuba, Moldova, and Uzbekistan have observer status. Vietnam, Serbia, and Singapore have signed free trade agreements with the EAEU.
