Ukraine freezes $680,000 on accounts of Belarusian fuel company’s subsidiary

June 15, BPN. The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has frozen the assets of a Belarusian fuel company “involved in the financing of Russia’s aggression,” including corporate rights and bank accounts worth about $680,000, the SSU press office reported.

It did not specify the name of the company but most likely it is BNK-UKRAINA, a subsidiary of the Belarusian Oil Company, the largest oil products exporter in Belarus. The SSU noted that the company in question was founded by Belarusian state companies, bought raw materials in Russia and paid taxes both in Belarus and Russia.

A prosecutor’s office in Kyiv has opened criminal proceedings on charges of embezzlement committed in wartime and financing actions to overthrow the constitutional order or seize state power.
