Rubel falls against U.S. dollar
June 16, BPN. The rubel dropped to 2,5643 against the U.S. dollar and rose to 2,6597 against the euro at the June 16 trading session at the Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange (BCSE).
The Belarusian currency dropped to 4,5024 Belarusian rubles for 100 Russian rubles.
The rubel gained 2.19 percent against the dollar and 3.05 percent against the euro last week, but lost 3.76 percent of its value against the Russian ruble, trading at 4.3725 Belarusian rubels per 100 Russian rubles.
The Belarusian rubel weakened by 1.58 percent against the U.S. dollar in the first five months of 2022. It ranked sixth in terms of weakening in the former Soviet Union.
Moldova topped the ranking with 7.47 percent, followed by Ukraine with 7.25 percent, and the Baltic states with 5.72 percent.
