June 18, BPN. Prosecutor Fiodar Michovič has demanded a year and a half in prison for Ludmiła Ramanovič, an activist of the Belarusian Popular Front from Małaryta, accused of insulting Alaksandr Łukašenka in a letter that she sent to his administration’s website, protesting Belarus’ participation in the war against Ukraine and demanding the withdrawal of Russian troops from Belarus.
Ramanovič told the court that she did not regret about her actions, her friend Piotr Andryjevič told BPN.
Ramanovič has been held behind bars since March 22. Human rights defenders declared her a political prisoner.
The judge is expected to deliver a verdict on June 20.
