June 18, BPN. A taxi driver from Hrodna, who refused to serve a policeman last year, has been arrested and faces criminal charges, human rights defenders reported.
In a separate development, police have arrested Uładzimir Branavicki, 54, a powerlifter from Baranavičy, on charges of hooliganism. Investigators accused him of hanging out “protest symbols” on power lines in the Baranavičy and Lachavičy districts between January and June 2022. In 2020, Branavicki signed a letter of athletes to condemn police violence during the protests in the wake of the presidential election.
