Belarus prohibits undeclared use of drones in border area

September 7, BPN. To use any kind of drone in the border area, one should notify border guards, the Belarusian State Border Committee has said.

Previously, the use of aircraft weighing less than 1 kg was not subject to the notification procedure.

Certain types of drones should be registered with the state in order to be used within the border zone, the committee said. There are also areas where the use of drones is prohibited.

The border guards say that since the beginning of 2022, they have recorded 20 breaches of border rules involving unmanned aerial vehicles.

They note that failure to comply with the rules in the border area can result in fines.
