Opposition’s former finance rep declines to comment on hurtful report
November 4, BPN. Belarusian businesswoman Taćciana Zareckaja has declined to comment on Naša Niva’s investigation suggesting that she might have misled the public about the size and integrity of her business, the Laava Tech company.
“I decided to refrain from any comments and interviews,” she told BPN.
On November 2, Zareckaja resigned as member of the opposition’s transition cabinet in charge of finance and economy, citing external pressure.
Naša Niva opined that it might have been its upcoming investigative report, not the threats, that caused her to resign.
Prior to publication, the transition cabinet stood by Zareckaja, recognizing her decision and offering her full support and solidarity.
