Teacher salaries falling – education ministry stats

November 9, BPN. Teachers’ pay is falling as compared to the national average, the education ministry’s stats indicate.

Teachers’ average gross salary amounted to 1,412 rubels (some $574) in September, 13.7 percent below the average, Education Minister Andrej Ivaniec said, as quoted by the ministry’s press office.

On September 4, Ivaniec told Belarus One that teachers’ average salary was 11 percent below the average. He announced plans to make it 6 percent greater than the average by 2025.
