National Bank compiles 2023 list of domestic systemically important banks
November 16, BPN. The National Bank of Belarus has published a list of domestic systemically important banks for 2023.
The move should limit negative externalities on the banking system, it added.
The first group comprises Biełarusbank, Biełahraprambank, Priorbank, Sberbank and Bank BelVEB. Biełinvestbank, Belgazprombank, Alfa-Bank, VTB Bank (Belarus), MTBank, and Bank Dabrabyt are in the second group.
The classification is based on an aggregate assessment of their strategic importance, including assets, connections with other banks, and importance to the economy, the National Bank said.
In 2023, the banks must comply with minimum capital requirements and buffers for systemically important banks and set up compensation committees led by non-executive directors.
