Damascus, Minsk have not achieved major economic complementarity so far – Assad
November 24, BPN. The Syrian and Belarusian economies have not become particularly complementary so far, but there is considerable potential for greater mutually beneficial cooperation, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has told Belarusian Prime Minister Raman Hałoŭčanka.
“Your visit is very important for us. This is just the beginning. Over these two days, we have signed quite a few agreements. I think that now we need to focus on several main ones and achieve their implementation,” the Syrian leader said, as quoted by the Belarusian government’s press office.
It reported that during the November 23-24 visit, the Belarusian government delegation brought the Syrian people a humanitarian cargo of medicines, children’s wear and shoes. The cargo weighed 2.3 tons.
On November 23, Hałoŭčanka met with Syrian Prime Minister Hussein Arnous. Six agreements and memoranda of understanding in trade, education, housing construction, transport, industry and customs were signed, Sana.sy reported.
