Trade unions highlight shortage of imported goods

December 4, BPN. A deputy chairperson of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus (FPB), Alena Mankievič, said the union observed shortages of imported non-food products, 1prof.by reported on December 2.

“Unfortunately, store shelves no longer have a wide range. Prices for a number of imported items have risen several times,” she said. “Hairspray and hair foam used to cost five-seven rubels, but today you can already find these products for 20 rubels. And there is only one kind, not 10-15 kinds as there used to be.”

The pro-government trade union federation has been monitoring product prices for years. The FPB passed the results of November’s monitoring to the regulators, Mankievič said.
