Kaleśnikava back in prison, meets father

December 5, BPN. Law enforcers transferred convicted protester Maryja Kaleśnikava from a Homiel hospital back to a penal colony, Viktar Babaryka’s campaign reports.

It happened “over the weekend,” it said, although the campaign expected Kaleśnikava to stay in the hospital until December 5.

In the colony, she was allowed to meet her father.

“The 10-minute meeting was held under the supervision of a doctor and colony officials. Masha has lost weight. She is weak and is in a prison ward. Maryja will be under medical supervision for at least 10 more days. Her diagnosis is perforated ulcer,” the campaing said in a news release.

It said that Kaleśnikava asked her supporters to “convey many thanks to the doctors of the emergency hospital who saved her life.”

Law enforcers placed former presidential hopeful Viktar Babaryka’s campaign manager Maryja Kaleśnikava in Homiel’s emergency hospital last week. She was operated on on November 28.
