Official says Belarusian-Russian foreign ministries’ board to meet soon

December 6, BPN. The Belarusian and Russian foreign ministries’ board will meet soon to analyze “the implementation of a joint action program” and coordinate “future action,” said Dmitriy Mezentsev, head of the two countries’ Union State permanent committee.

“Of course, these plans correspond to the realities that we are experiencing,” he told a foreign affairs forum in Moscow, as quoted by TASS.

“We proudly talk about a special-quality and special-level alliance. It has manifested itself at a difficult time of our special military operation in response to the Western world turning our closest ally and brotherly country Ukraine into anti-Russia,” he said.

The announcement comes two weeks after the sudden death of Belarusian Foreign Minister Uładzimir Makiej. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov canceled his visit to Minsk scheduled for November 27-28. Russia’s top diplomat was planning to meet with Makiej and Alaksandr Łukašenka, and to participate in the aforementioned joint board meeting.
